About Sue Rooney
An accomplished marketing and communications professional with over 20 years of experience in the industry. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with some of the leading global blue-chip brands and innovative smaller enterprises. I leverage my insightful and lateral thinking to develop brand and communication strategies yielding high ROIs.
My expertise spans markets in Europe, North America, and Africa, and I have received notable recognition for my contributions to the industry. One of the highlights of my career was serving as a media judge at the prestigious Cannes Advertising Festival. I have also been an active member and contributor to various industry bodies, including lecturing on marketing and advertising theory to college and university students.
After relocating to Canada, I held the position of Head of Marketing in North America for WTG Events before transitioning to my current role as COO and International Group Publisher for Global Village Publishing Inc.
In addition to my career in marketing and communications, I am also the CEO and Co-Founder of Women of the Future, an initiative aimed at promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and gender equality in the tech industry. I am passionate about creating a more equitable and just world, where everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed and thrive. Through Women of the Future, my team and I are dedicated to amplifying the voices of female leaders who are trailblazing and achieving success in traditionally male-dominated tech fields. By joining forces with others who champion equality and inclusivity, we strive to effect change and shift the status quo. At the heart of our mission is a commitment to breaking down boundaries and inspiring positive transformation.
My leadership and vision have been instrumental in driving the success of Women of the Future. My expertise in marketing, advertising, and communications has been invaluable in promoting the initiative’s goals. Women of the Future is fast becoming a powerful force for change, inspiring more women to pursue careers in tech and helping to close the gender gap.
