About Dana O’Born

Dana O’Born is the Vice President of Strategy and Advocacy for the Council of Canadian Innovators (CCI), a national business council that represents over 150 of Canada’s fastest-growing technology-intensive companies. CCI is exclusively dedicated to helping high-growth Canadian-based technology firms scale-up globally by advancing public policy strategies that increase access to talent, capital, and customers for domestic innovation firms. At CCI, Dana spearheads the Council’s pan-Canadian advocacy efforts for developing national data governance and intellectual property strategies. She works regularly with Canada’s top technology CEOs and experts to provide recommendations to Governments across Canada on how to shape economic and non-economic frameworks required to manage the impacts of the data-driven economy.

Before joining CCI in 2016, Dana held various public policy and government affairs roles, first for a national government relations firm in Toronto, and then at Queen’s Park where she supported several Cabinet Ministers on issues related to economic development, and transportation and energy. Dana holds a BA from Wilfrid Laurier University, an LL.B from the University of Edinburgh a Master’s of Business and Law from Bucerius University in Hamburg, Germany. She is the Board Chair of CycleTO, a charitable organization dedicated to cycling safety and advocacy in Toronto and is the Vice Chair of the Toronto Chapter of Equal Voice.
