mesh news

no, sold out *really means* sold out

By mesh news

Man, it is something how stoked people are about being a part of mesh. We continue to be blown away, and we sure wish we could let everybody who wants to come, come. In fact, people have been pinging me with various and sundry tales of woe regarding how they forgot to register and just *HAVE TO GET IN*. For instance, we have had two people from Vancouver – one who had made it all the way here to Toronto, and one who was still at the Vancouver airport – who pinged me in a panic because they realized that they did not have a ticket. We have managed to help them and a few others out, I am happy to say.

But…

mesh is really, truly, completely, “we don’t know that we have enough chairs and are getting worried about  having enough food,” Sold Out. This is not a PR spin-y thing, and the fact that it happened the Friday before was merely a happy coincidence. We are really, truly full; there is no more room at The Inn.

As much as it pains us to say so, we have to ask that if you have not already registered for mesh, that you please do not come to MaRS tomorrow and hope to get in. We won’t be able to help at the door, nor will we have last minute spaces. We will unfortunately be saying “Sadly, no.”

It is, as they say, a great problem to have. But a problem nonetheless.

See you registered folks at breakfast 🙂

mesh setup and BarCamp TDot

By mesh news
We spent the afternoon at MaRs sweating details for mesh. Technical stuff, dealing with gear a.k.a. swag (oh yes, there will be gear), badges, "flow" and so forth. Very much in making-the-sausage mode. Things are coming together swimmingly, I am happy to say. We are feeling sort-of ready for Monday. Sort-of 🙂

BTW, Mathew makes a lousy stand-in for Om. 🙂

I’m now at BarCamp TDot, of which mesh, myself, Rob and Mike are sponsors. There are still a lot of people here in a big empty warehouse room near Dufferin and King, but there were apparently 130 or so here at it’s peak. Great to see so much networking and collaboration in the Toronto tech world happening.
