meshJobs has Launched

By mesh news

A few weeks ago we sent word ’round that we were going to be launching a jobs board dedicated to web and other tech-related jobs in Canada. We often get asked to list jobs, and the jobs board at the conference is always really popular, so we thought a board would be a good idea.

After all, while there are lots of job boards out there, most of them are about 10 to 20-1 US to Cdn jobs, or they charge rather a lot for their listings, or they have loads of features that seem to make it hard to just get quick info on job opportunities. We wanted to do something different – we wanted a simple, inexpensive Canadian jobs site for web and tech-related jobs.

And so we did it. Today we’re launching meshJobs.com. While we originally thought we would charge a small fee for it, we’ve decided that for the foreseeable future it will be free, except for a small charge if we need to control spam on the site. We hope you’ll consider using it. We’re working on a widget for listings, and we’ll do our best to promote meshJobs on our site, our personal sites, and at mesh events.

We hope you like it. And if you have suggestions about how we could do this better, don’t hesitate to drop us a note at jobs@meshconference.com.

mesh ’09 on Sale

By mesh news

mesh
Since mesh was started three years ago, we’ve been focused on being more organized – not always an easy thing when you have five people involved who have other things on their plates such as day jobs and families. 🙂

So, we’re excited to take a major organizational step forward by putting tickets for the mesh ’09 conference on sale today. mesh is happening April 7 to 8, 2009 at the MaRS Collaboration Centre. Tickets are $469 (plus the evil GST). There are also 30 tickets available for students for $50 a piece. (Note: If you’re GST-exempt, let us know by sending an e-mail to info@meshconference.com)

We’ve really been encouraged by how excited people are about mesh ’09, as well as the great support from our sponsors, whose support for mesh is invaluable.

We’re in the midst of putting together programming for mesh. If you’ve got people you’d like to see or ideas for panels and workshops, let us know.

As well, tickets for meshU, which is taking place on April 6, 2009, will go on sale soon.

Finally, we’re excited about the launch of meshJobs – a place to find and post listings of Web-related and other technology jobs in Canada.

mesh09 ticket sales are *GO* next Tuesday

By mesh news, mesh09

Prepare to get your mesh on!

Starting next Tuesday, tickets to mesh09 will be available for purchase. The three previous events were sell-outs and so, as the saying goes “book early to avoid disappointment” 🙂

We are very pleased to be bringing back our very popular student program, with a limited number of tickets being made available to students with i.d. for only $50.00 + GST. These always go quickly – as in immediately – so if you or someone you know is a student who would like to attend, be sure to let them know so they are able to get in on the goodness.

We take great pleasure in being able to bring mesh to life each year as an affordable, accessible event and this year is no exception. Admission will be only $469.00 + GST for two days of the best content and interaction you’re going to find anywhere.

So next Tuesday, November 18th, get yours at www.meshconference.com.
