meshU speakers: Ryan Singer and Chris Wanstrath

By mesh news

Today we’re pleased to announce the first two speakers for meshU 2009: Ryan Singer of 37signals and Chris Wanstrath of Github.  MeshU is an event for designers, developers and other team members who are building projects online.

We’re honored to have these two speakers as the first we announce for meshU as they are both leaders in the respective disciplines and represent some of the very finest web design and development online today.  Ryan’s work at 37Signals is leading web application user experience design, as evidenced by his work on products like Basecamp and HighRise, while Chris’ service Github is a social source code repository born out of open source work he’s done – a successful business he built by scratching his own itch.

We’ll follow up over the coming weeks with more speakers and the details of the workshops Chris and Ryan and the others will be presenting.  If you are building a project online or know people who are, please let them know they’re not going to want to miss meshU – and event where they are sure to be inspired.

mesh Keynote News: Jason Calacanis and Jessica Jackley Flannery

By mesh news

With mesh only three months away, we’re excited to announce the first two of our four keynote speakers.

We’re thrilled to have well-known entrepreneur and Mahalo founder and CEO Jason Calacanis as our business keynote. Calacanis has been an active, influential and high-profile player within the online world, and we’re really looking forward to hearing his thoughts on the entrepreneurial, online and venture capital landscape.

We’re also very excited having Jessica Jackley Flannery as our society keynote. Jackley Flannery is co-founder – along with her husband, Matt, – of Kiva, the world’s first person-to-person micro-lending online service that lets individuals lend directly to entrepreneurs in the developing world.

We’re honored that Calacanis and Jackley Flannery are coming to mesh. They are extremely well-regarded thought-leaders that will help set the tone for another great conference.

Stay tuned for more exciting mesh news in the weeks to come.

More: You can register now for mesh, which is happening April 7/8 in Toronto, and meshU, which takes place April 6.
