mesh09 Marketing Keynote: Scott Monty – Ford Motor Company

By mesh news, mesh09

At mesh we really try to focus on people and ideas which are leading the way, and actively putting “what’s next” into action. With that in mind, and against any measure Scott is someone worth hearing from. As a key online face of Ford during the current economic challenge in the auto sector, Scott has been right there in the middle of the fire. Never mind client or agency talk of “should we be doing anything in social media?” or “is there any value in it?” or “is it worth the money?” — Scott has been living it, and in doing so has been putting Ford at the forefront of online brand building and rapid-fire communication response and management.

I can’t wait to get him on the stage at mesh09 and talk about life in the digital trenches. And I bet many of you will want to get in on the action, too.

Are you a friend of mesh?

By mesh news

As part of the lead-up to mesh 2009 — taking place at MaRS on April 7th and 8th — we’d like to announce a new “micro-sponsorship” campaign that we’re calling “Friends of mesh.” We’ve had a number of requests over the years from both individuals and companies who aren’t interested in a traditional sponsorship arrangement with us, but who would like to show their support for mesh in a smaller way, so we came up with FOM. All you have to do is register through InviteRight and sign up as Friend of mesh, and for $1,500 you get a ticket to the conference, your logo on our site and on screen at the event, plus a pass to an invitation-only VIP social event — and of course the eternal gratitude of myself and the other four mesh co-founders 🙂

meshU speakers: Ryan Singer and Chris Wanstrath

By mesh news

Today we’re pleased to announce the first two speakers for meshU 2009: Ryan Singer of 37signals and Chris Wanstrath of Github.  MeshU is an event for designers, developers and other team members who are building projects online.

We’re honored to have these two speakers as the first we announce for meshU as they are both leaders in the respective disciplines and represent some of the very finest web design and development online today.  Ryan’s work at 37Signals is leading web application user experience design, as evidenced by his work on products like Basecamp and HighRise, while Chris’ service Github is a social source code repository born out of open source work he’s done – a successful business he built by scratching his own itch.

We’ll follow up over the coming weeks with more speakers and the details of the workshops Chris and Ryan and the others will be presenting.  If you are building a project online or know people who are, please let them know they’re not going to want to miss meshU – and event where they are sure to be inspired.

Get your ticket; join us at meshU.
