Simon Pulsifer is an Ottawa native whose nickname is “the king of Wikipedia.” He is one of the leading contributors to Wikipedia, with some 96,000 edits to the online encyclopedia. Wikipedia is today one of the ten most visited websites on the Internet, and is one of the most prominent examples of user generated content. To date the Wikipedia community has written over six million encyclopedia articles in some 200 languages. Having been involved with the project since close to its inception in 2001, he also sits on the Arbitration Committee that governs the English Wikipedia. Simon has also been one of the public faces of Wikipedia, having been profiled in news stories across Canada and the world. Originally from Ottawa, Simon studied history at the University of Toronto and today works in Toronto for an assistive technology company.
