As CTO, Paul leads a team of talented technology professionals that develop, rollout and support new online and offline advertising products, seamlessly integrating them to provide a ‘one-stop-shop’ for YPG advertiser on some of the biggest digital marketing sites in Canada. Additionally, Yellow Pages Group’s big data based analytics allows him to tune and extend the company’s consumer sites and mobile applications.

An outstanding speaker, Paul uniquely combines the talents of deep technical knowledge with insightful business acuity. Often invited to contribute to various digital conferences in North America, he conveys in his own unique style critical strategic issues on the matters of business and technology.

Ryan brings a long history of entrepreneurial success in his more than 25-year career as a technology and product innovator. He was the Founder and CEO of Done Right!, a venture-funded home improvement services directory (both online and in traditional print media), serving 38 U.S. cities and generating over 300,000 advertiser leads. Building the company from the ground up, five years later he successfully sold the business to Tree.com. Following this business venture, Paul founded One Click Politics, a nonpartisan web site that allows registered users to easily contact members of Congress and The President of the United States. Just prior to joining Yellow Pages Group, he was Chief Technology Officer for Leads 360, a U.S.-based provider of sales lead management software.

Paul also held the Chief Technology Officer position at Overture Services, Inc. formerly GoTo.com, the pioneer of search engine marketing, from 1999 to 2003. Overture was purchased by Yahoo! in 2003, becoming Yahoo! Search Marketing. He defined and implemented Overture’s technology architecture, worldwide operations, and development process and standards, scaling the original search architecture to over half a billion searches a day, serving over 200,000 advertisers and generating revenue in excess of $2 billion.

Earlier in his career, Ryan was also the Chief Information Officer and a founding member of the management team of Delray Farms, a rapid-growth Chicago Inner-city 15-store grocery chain. His primary responsibilities included building and leading a technology team that developed and implemented business and operation systems for the retail chain.

Paul is a graduate of Princeton University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He also has a Master’s degree in Computer Science from The John Hopkins University, and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
